MAIN CAMP LESS THAN A MONTH AWAY!

The New Mexico Renegades Main Camp opens in less than four weeks!  As Coach Ambroziak looks to solidify his roster, the Renegades still have  a few openings on their pre-season roster at forward and defense.

If you are a forward or defenseman looking to take your game to the next level, the New Mexico Renegades is the place to play.

All you need to do is contact Head Coach Peter Ambroziak and Peter@NMRenegades.com with your contact information and a player resume.  "Ambro" will review your resume and contact you back with information regarding your opportunity to don the "Skull and Bones".

56 MORE DAYS!!!

56  days seems like an eternity, but time flies!  Soon enough your New Mexico Renegades begin the Regular Season trek to a Mid-West Division Championship and  it all starts in Rio Rancho against the expansion Texas Brahmas!
While Coach Ambroziak assembles high-thrill offensive lines and stalwart defensive pairings, Coach Blair continues to develop mind-boggling drills for the brickwall netminders he creates.

My question, what do you expect out of your New Mexico Renegades opening weekend?

Will Jonny Voyles get a Gordie Howe Hattrick? How about a couple DJ Pyle powerplay snipes?
You cannot forget the signature Colton Ishmael headbob and shoulder shrug to music between whistles!

Personally, while all the enetertainment is part of junior hockey, I believe the Renegades will set the new tone for the new season.  A crop of talented rookies will join a group of responsible and skilled veterans to make a lot of noise this season.  Along with the Renegade community, we all know that the returning players are winners.

So join the Renegades on August 27 at their hideout (Blades Multiplex Arena) for Main Camp and on September 24 as they open up WSHL play against the Texas Brahmas.

Let the Ride for the Brand begin!

New Tickets Prices for 2010/2011 Season

The Ambroziak family and the New Mexico Renegades are proud to announce a reduction in ticket prices!

Season tickets will be AN AMAZING $35 FOR YOUTH and ONLY $75 FOR ADULTS!  From an athletic standpoint, the Renegades plan to ice a high-intensity, action packed team with dynamic forwards and stalwart defensemen.  They want present and future New Mexico ice hockey fans to witness the fun without mortgaging their home.  Hockey is for everyone and the Renegades do not want your pocketbook to keep you from enjoying the "Coolest Game on Earth", especially inside Blades Multiplex Arena.

And if you don't have season tickets, NO PROBLEM, admission is $2/game for youth, $4/game for adults and $3/game for military members.

So bring your jackets to the Madhouse on Loma Colorado and cheer on your Renegades this season!

Ishmael and Voyles to Return to Renegades; Alires Preparing for USHL Camp

Jonny Voyles ended his Main Camp run yesterday evening and plans to return to the New Mexico Renegades to begin the season.  He left a great impression upon the Mustangs coaching staff.  If Jonny continues his strong play into the regular season, he won't be with us long.  Jonny had this to say about camp and the Renegades:

"I really appreciate the opportunity Coach Muckalt of the Mustangs gave me to make his team.  I also thank Coach Ambroziak for helping me get this opportunity.  While I am excited to make the jump to the NAHL level eventually, I can't wait for the Renegades season to start.  Along with my future Renegade teammates, we have all been working hard over the summer to improve our totals in the win column and develop ourselves into a championship team. We will be a good team this year and I expect great things from ourselves.  We have a strong veteran core returning and I saw some good things out of potential first-year players."
Meanwhile, Colton Ishmael had a strong showing at the Corpus Christi Ice Rayz camp in Detroit.  He had a very strong showing in his final ice sessions, with some amazing saves, but did not make the final cut.  Colton is excited to return to the Renegades this year though.  Ishy is making his plans to begin one-on-one training with Renegades Goaltending Coach Kevin Blair.  He also has great expectations for the team, which is why he will work with Kevin as much as he can this season to prepare himself to backstop the team and transfer his skills to college hockey.

Also, defenseman Jared Alires ended his "East Coast Experience" at the Chowder Cup +6 with 1 assist.  He is back home for a couple days before heading off the camp with the Lincoln Stars of the USHL.  Play hard Jared.

The Renegades begin Regular Season preparation on August 27 as they open with a late Main Camp.  Expect the stars to align for the Renegades' second season of WSHL competition!

UPDATE: I received confirmation from Matt Pipkins himself.  He just returned from the eye doctor and he will be 100% fine.  The swelling finally went down and the doctor examined him.  He is ready to go for the season.

ISHY ON A MISSION!

2009-10 Renegades Goaltender Colton Ishmael is pushing it to the limit at the Corpus Christi Ice Rayz (NAHL) Main Camp.  "Ishy" had a shutout and a stellar practice in his morning session and followed those performances with, as he put it, "A good but not great game".  He has one more game until cuts are made for the All-Star game.  If he can elevate his level of play, which he did multiple times throughout the season, then not only do his chances of making the All-Star game increase, so does the possiblity of him wearing an Ice Rayz jersey this season.

He is on a mission to play NCAA Division I hockey and an opportunity in the NAHL is what he needs to stay on path.  Keep going Colton and show them why you are more than a goaltender, but a "spark plug" for teams.

Day One: Jonny Voyles Mustangs Main Camp and another 2009-10 Renegade

Jonny's scoring rampage carried over from the Renegades Camp to the Mustangs camp.  Voyles played two games today and totaled two goals and four assists for a whopping six points.

Not too shabby for the '92 birth-year. He continued to make his physical prescence known on the ice and is excited to play tomorrow.

Check back for a mid-day update and an entry from Jonny himself.

UPDATE:  2009-10 Renegades defenseman Jared Alires is in Boston competing in the prestigious Chowder Cup, with scouts from Junior A to NCAA to Major Junior to NHL in attendance.  He was selected after participating in the Global Scouting Showcase in Las Vegas.  This is an exciting weekend for the Renegades!

RENEGADE JONNY VOYLES TO MUSTANGS MAIN CAMP!!!

Congratulations to 2009-10 Renegade Jonathan Voyles for being invited to the New Mexico Mustangs (NAHL) Main Camp.

Voyles (Right) facing off with Tim Avegard
Voyles joined the team for the tail end of the 2009-10 season after starting the year with the Odessa Jackalopes Midget "AA" team.  The '92 birth-year forward stepped in as a 17 year-old and played with intensity and grit far beyond his age and size.  Voyles showed up to the July camp prepared to put on a show and delivered with three goals, two assists and a KO in his first fight.  His "hit-anything-that-moves" mentality and incredible skating skills not only impressed Renegades Bench Boss Peter Ambroziak, but also caught the eye of Mustangs Head Coach Bill Muckalt.

Even though we would like to see Jonny wear the "Skull and Bones" again, the Renegade family would LOVE to see him hop onto the Tier II horse with the Mustangs to chase his NCAA and Professional dreams.  Stay tuned for updates on Jonny's performance throughout the weekend and he shows the other players how to "Ride for the Brand".

Colton Ishmael to Guard Renegades Hideout!

The New Mexico Renegades are proud to announce that '91 birth-year goaltender Colton Ishmael will return to the Renegades for the 2010-11 season!  The 6'2" 200 lbs. goaltender has been working like a madman to prepare for this season.  The Renegades coaches, players and fans are happy to have Colton back for the season, but are all aware it is only a matter of time before an NAHL team offers him.  His athleticism and dedication will guide him to the Tier II level and beyond.

Despite what statistics say, Ishmael had a stellar rookie season last year and was a spark for the Renegades.  We all know he will continue to do so this season.
